Well I told the General Manager and his response was: “Expecting what?” Not even a congrats or is it a boy/girl? How rude!
I still need to inform my head of department and reassure him my current project will be completed before I go on maternity leave and I will still be reachable and reliable for some weeks after I’m on leave. Not sure how he’ll take it but I really don’t care I’m still excited about this journey and can’t wait to leave this country for a few months. Oh yh and I apparently get 3 months paid leave but I have no intention of returning to work so soon. Either I’ll have to resign once the 12 weeks maternity leave is up or il request 3 more months unpaid leave then discuss what I want to do once I return to the country in March. But I feel guilty about keeping their hopes up when I know I don’t want to work for at least the first 12 months of her life and if I know the boyfriend well enough I’ll be knocked up again before then 😆 maybe these next few years should just be the baby-making years, no full-time work just baby after baby lol maybe some freelance jobs to keep my creative mind active.
